My Philosophy
As a Physical Educator it is my responsibility to the students to give them the knowledge and opportunities to grow in movement and sports. Skills such as problem solving, working as a team, balancing, striking, kicking, throwing and catching are just some of the fundamentals crucial to many physical pursuits. My goal is to find each students ideal form of movement and foster their need to grow that skill within my classroom. When a student leaves my gym I want them to take with them a passion for a healthy lifestyle through movement, whether its a traditional sport, adventure sport, or a life sport.
As a Health Educator I strive to create an atmosphere of respect. Respect for yourself, each other and the community. Health Education is a means for becoming aware of how your body, nutrition, your emotions, and your interpersonal relationships impact your life, day in and day out. Students within my classroom feel comfortable digging into sensitive topics, sharing personal information and practicing important communication skills. Skills learned in my Health class can be used daily to improve each student's quality of life for the rest of their life.
